Trip to see the libraries

Posted on Thursday 13 December 2012

Haven’t posted for a while on my own blog. Too much facebooking and not enough love for my blog!

I just came back from visiting the libraries Sketchtravel funded to help build in Cambodia and Sri Lanka.
It was by far the most incredible trip I have ever had in my life. It was an intense and eye opening journey.

Once I’m done with all the end of year craziness at work, I’ll post sketches and photos. In the meantime, enjoy a few I posted on facebook already.

Such an accomplishment to see your simple idea of sharing a sketchbook bring job and the gift of learning too many children, it looks like a very inspiration trip.
I have regrets i didn’t sketch more when I travel the world, mainly just black and white. But now after seeing your pages, I must buy some transportable paints! Any tips?

    Hi Tegan

doing color on the sketchbook does require extra stuff to carry. I think important thing is to sketch, period. So Black and White is totally fine.
I will post my watercolor gear maybe soon so you can see what I have. I have spoken to people like Nathan Fawkes and Andrew Hem to learn their gears too.

Would love to see more of your water colour work.
And Nathan Fawkes and Andrew Hemare are 2 of the best to learn from, their tips would be priceless.
Mike Humphries was encouraging me at CTN capture natural light by painting outside and I think I will make this my New Years resolution! And following Leighton Hickmans latest posts are also really inspiring!
