struggling with my new comic…

Posted on Saturday 2 December 2006

This weekend is the last weekend before the deadline of rough layout/story for our next Out of Picture graphic novel. I am having such hard time getting my story down.. I’ll be home all day and night both sat and sun…..;-(

another random image to share… It is a commissioned baby portrait I did a while ago. Commissioned portraiture is one of the hardest things for me because it most of the time needs to be painted from photographs. It is very difficult to maintain the liveliness if you are painting from photos…but what kind of a baby would pose for 2 – 3 hours straight??

    Hi again, Dice!
Just pick up a copy of ‘Out of Picture’ yesterday. The works are fantastic! Really enjoy your story and artworks. Looking forward to see more of your works in the next book! Will buy a copy for sure!

I just started a blog (sketches and illustration) too btw – if you have spare minute to maybe check and give some pointers to my works, it”ll be great.. ‘hint hint’ ๐Ÿ˜€ :

Also, may I add a link to your site in there?

    Have a great day! ๐Ÿ˜€

Note: Just notice a typo again… why it’s ‘simplestroke’ now? where’s my ‘simeokestroke’? maaannnn ๐Ÿ˜›

Hey Dice! How are you doing man? Of course I remember you. It’s wonderful to see that you’re still painting and doing these beautiful plein air pieces. I love the watercolors from Paris and the oils from NYC. James and I had dinner with Vincent Nguyen last year and we were talking about you and wondering how you were doing. I bookmarked your site so I’ll check back frequently. I hope all is well with you and thank YOU for the inspiration.
