spams, a sculpt, moving on….

Posted on Friday 23 March 2007

Do you guys ever get spams on your blogs?? All of sudden, I get tons lately.:(
I usually get around 10 ~ 15 comments each week but I got 242 this week alone!! and 90 % of them are spams! I have a strong spam filter service I use but I am always afraid they get rid of non-spam comments…. Meanwhile, so many things are moving along in my life, I’m a bit overwhelmed and can’t handle things as well as I want to.

this is my first sculpt ever! Well, I have done a lot of life sculpture when i was in school but this is my first character maquette. I took a class taught by our superstar sculptor at Blue Sky, Mike DeFeo about a few years ago. This is from my children’s book illustration. I LOVE sculpting. It’s so physical and liberating! I would love to do more!

it took me 2 years to finally bake and paint this 2 yr old sculpy….of course with a big help from my sculpture mentor/ favorite person ever Alena Wooten.

here is the illustration this is sculpted from

And about spams, don’t worry, you are not alone to be spamed…it’s nonsense how many wrong e-mails I can receive in one hour…(fake pils, viagra, etc)

wow, I love the sculpt. it has a different feel from the art. I wish you could push it more to capture the dynamic pose of the guy in the painting but it’s not too far off!
It’s great that you are getting from Alena Wooten. I have followed her work for some time. i want to work in animation as a sculptor too someday. Thank you for sharing dice.

Great to see you use a whole other medium. Sculpting is something I’d love to get into. Your excellent understanding of form makes this a really succesful piece of work!
