getting ready for a big move

Posted on Sunday 13 May 2007

I know I know… it’s been a wihle since I updated my blog… We have this massive overtime at Blue Sky. Things are really picking up. And with the deadline for OOP 2 approaching, I have been really busy. But all in all, the biggest challenge right now is that I have to prepare for my big move.

Yes, I am leaving my favorite city NY, my beloved Blue Sky…. I am moving to SF to work for Pixar in June.

It was a tough decision since I had such an amazing 7 year run at Blue Sky and also loved NYC to death. But right now my family needs me closer and going back to West Coast was the most logical choice for me. And of course, I am very excited to work for Pixar and learn everything I can from the most successful animation studio Today.

this is a painting I was working on in the past few weekends. I was so exausted from work and oop, I had to do this silly oil painting just to relax. It is based on a quick digital sketch I did for BSS challenge. It is fairly large for my standard.(20 x 20) I only had my snapshot camera so I’ll post a better pic later. Also, I did a step by step pic of this paitning so I”ll post my complete oil painting process on my workshop section soon!

Congrats on working for Pixar. It’s a shame you’re leaving NY, but you have to do what you have to do. Great painting by the way. Hope to see you at MOCCA this year.

That’s a disgrace to bluesky, the city of New York, and the guys from OOP. Joking. Good luck in Pixar and family. I’d say we’d need three color guys to replace you, but in the end you are irreplaceable. I guess you are keeping the Pixar tradition by keeping my movie. haha. You can have it by the way. My gift to you.

By the by, i love the painting as well, me being such a huge batman fan and not liking superman as much. It’s cool to see the dark night being the behind the man of steel. Congrats again!
