Animated Colorscript

Posted on Sunday 14 August 2011

Oh my god.

I don’t think I have neglected my blog so long!!   Thanks so much for all the emails asking about the updates and sorry that I have not been around.

I have been working non stop for the upcoming Sketchtravel auction event in Brussels in October.  The 5 year charity project passing one sketchbook between 71 artists around the world will come to an end when it is auctioned on 10/17.   In order to promote the event as well as the upcoming publication of the project, we have been creating a lot of PR materials that will hit in September.

I personally have dedicated my time(outside of Pixar work) in the past 6 months or so working on this animated short film.  Since I’m not much of an animator, I treated more as an “animated colorscript” to tell a story.

It has been such a humbling experience.  Directing, animating, editing, and story development aren’t anything like painting.  But the challenge is certainly giving me a chance to learn!

It will be released online in September.

these are the clips from the short

    Hi Dice,

It is great to see you post again. Many of us were looking forward to seeing your new work 🙂
I simply can’t wait to see the short, as the images look scrumptious. I love the way you painted the waves in that “storm” picture.

    Cheers

    by the way,

I’m so sorry if I haven’t been responsive in the previous blog entries.
I know many people emailed directly to me though I haven’t been able to reply all of them…. I have been really having hard time finding time to write my blog entries. Hope I can get back to it!
